Virtual Academic Support Services in Arlington Heights, IL
I am a former certified science educator in both Illinois and California with a Bachelor's degree in Geology and Master's degree in Education. I have taught students a variety of sciences at the middle and high school levels for over 20 years. This experience includes teaching regular, co-taught, and honors courses in both public and private independent schools. I am also proficient in educational technology including, but not limited to, a variety of Learning Management Systems and digital learning tools commonly used in 1:1 schools. Having a diverse background such as this has allowed me to develop the skills needed to reach a variety of learners.
In addition to teaching science, I assist students with their study and executive functioning skills. Often students struggle with organization and time management simply because they are overwhelmed by the amount of work they have to do, not necessarily the type of work they have to do. I enjoy helping students discover their untapped potential as they find their unique path to success.
